Come explore the requirements of ADA for early care programs, examine best inclusionary practices, and learn about resources which can support you and your families. Participants will identify the difference between ADA requirements and early childhood inclusion, familiarize themselves with the documents and elements of the IEP and IFSP and develop an inclusion policy that aligns with the Maryland EXCELS rationale for implementing inclusive practices in child care programs.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in Early Childhood Program: Supporting STEM through Play

Participants will learn how to support STEM learning by creating environments that provide opportunities for children to explore, create, and question during play. Participants will identify developmentally appropriate STEM learning activities using several Hatch Early Learning STEM Kits as well as discover ways to use materials already available in their programs.   Core of Knowledge:  2 Hours Curriculum   ACCCPA Members= FREE *Need code

Early Learning Assessment (ELA)

The Early Learning Assessment (ELA) is a formative assessment tool intended for use by early childhood educators of children 3 to 6 years of age. It is an ongoing process of observations performed by the educator to gather information on how a child is developing over time. Basic Health and Safety Training

This workshop provides an overview of basic health and safety topics including the prevention and control of infectious diseases, SIDS, shaken baby syndrome and head trauma, food allergies, vehicle and transportation safety, child abuse, building safety and others.
