Early Learning Assessment Training
The Early Learning Assessment (ELA) is a formative assessment tool intended for use by early childhood educators of children 3 to 6 years of age. It is an ongoing process of observations performed by the educator to gather information on how a child is developing over time. This process allows the educator to form an understanding of the child’s learning and development that will assist them in planning future learning opportunities. The ELA is aligned to the Maryland Early Learning Standards in seven domains which establish expectations for all children as the foundation for school readiness and life-long success.
