Developmentally Appropriate Art
This workshop is designed to teach participants how to implement a developmentally appropriate art curriculum in the classroom environment and/or a family child care center. Explores what visual art is and how to implement a variety of art experiences for children of all ages. In addition, the educator’s role in facilitating creative art activities and engaging children in conversations about visual arts will be examined. The stages of art skills are outlined to provide participants with an overview of the skills children will develop. Also, the materials for creating the ideal art center will be introduced. Participants will be provided with numerous resources that will allow educators to create an environment where art is an integral part of the day.
